A serial killer stalks New York city, one whose only weapon is a wooden bat. He grows increasingly brutal with each kill and disappears into the shadows afterwards.

The NYPD’s investigation is going nowhere and in desperation they turn to someone who has some knowledge of killing.  Zeb Carter hunts terrorists, gangsters, killers of all kinds. He is an assassin himself.

However even he makes no progress and hopes that the killer makes a mistake.  The killer makes it personal instead.  He already has Zeb on his radar and has ordered a new set of bats.
