However, when billionaire Spartak Newmark hires Eddie to unmask the persons behind a theft at Newmark’s estate, he knows he can’t turn this case down: first, because Newmark is a Vampire as well and knows Eddie’s nature almost better than he knows himself, and second, because the stolen items contain the bloodlines of the world’s oldest Vampires—which has dire consequences were they to fall into the wrong hands.

Between recovering the stolen Vampire blood and uncovering a trail of bodies, Eddie finds himself growing closer to Amelia, who also works for Newmark and is reluctant to share her own past. He questions if he could truly have a future with her, but one thing he’s sure of—if he doesn’t solve the case quickly, his may be the next body to turn up.
