My name is Larkspur, and I am an Elemental.
My people use the power of the earth to sustain life and defy our enemies. I should be at my father's side as a royal princess. But as a half-breed, bastard child, that isn't going to happen.
As an Ender, one of my father’s Elite guards, it’s my job to do as I’m told. When my older sister is sent as an ambassador to the realm of the water elementals--the Deep--I have no choice but to accompany her as her bodyguard.
With the death of the water elemental's King, a deadly battle for the throne begins; a battle we are forced to choose sides in.
There are only a few things I know for sure. The ocean may be beautiful, but lurking in its depths are monsters to fear, the water I tread is teaming with danger and I am on my own.
With no one to help, and no one to trust, I have to find a way to keep my sister safe, and stop a civil war.
But the secrets within the Deep are far darker than any of us realized.
Welcome . . . welcome to the Deep.
While other ladies turn their country homes into soldiers’ hospitals and host charity bazaars to fund the war effort, Linley struggles just to keep Wolford Abbey afloat. Driving tractors and managing servants is not the life she dreamed of in those magical days before the war. She yearns to put down the teacups, pick up a trowel, and follow in her father’s footsteps as an archaeologist–and never is this more apparent than with her husband away at the Front.
Patrick doesn’t allow himself to remember life during peacetime. To think of anything other than war and death would be too painful. If he is to survive, he must not look back. He must push forward over the top and into the horrors that await him. But after an injury saves him from death at the hands of the Germans, Patrick is forced to reconcile his life as a soldier with his responsibilities as a husband.
The strength of their love will be tested as old friends and bad memories threaten to tear the couple apart. Through it all, the trenches of the Great War, quiet Worcestershire countryside, and bustling streets of Cairo await in Linley and Patrick’s second adventure.
When Jada wakes up in a hospital, the last thing she thinks is that her life has completely changed forever. But when the very real civil war forces her to flee from every open space, she must use the firearm skills her father taught her to reunite with him and protect herself.
Armed with a single gun and a key to an unknown locker, Jada crosses Syria on a journey with a group of children called the Fearless Freedom Fighters.
With the leader, Zak, they mount a plan to rescue their fathers while they try to cope with the merciless murders of their families. As Jada and Zak lead the group together, love blossoms, but with soldiers hot on their tail, they need to stay vigilant in the face of war.

Dr. Gorgeous’ office called to tell me about a stray dog that needed a home. The receptionist said the staff was reluctant to send her to the local dog shelter because of the low odds of her surviving. Dr. Gorgeous had suggested me. I agreed to take the stray unseen.
As I drove to the vet’s office, I tested out cutesy girl names. And then I met her. The stray was a mutt that resembled a small German Shepherd. She looked more wolfish than domesticated canine. Her coat was brindle, almost the same color as my skin, with irregular dark markings that looked like zigzag lines of tar. She had wolf ears that she rotated like antennas. The staff gushed about her cheerful personality. Clearly that persona had departed as soon as I had entered. We studied each other cautiously like opposing gunslingers facing off in a dusty western town.
She just seemed standoffish and sneaky to me. Maybe it was just me. Maybe I was emitting a vibe that was sloughing off like dandruff. But I saw what I saw. We were eying each other suspiciously.

Then there's Iola, who is so dragon-struck that she actually wants to be a priestess. She's blind to the corruption in the temples.
Thorat is Iola's champion. He sees dragons as much as the girls do, but unlike them he blends easily in to a crowd.
