When translator Kylie Thaw's sister Mara is arrested for blowing up the docks in her home town, Kylie has no choice to return to the one place she thought she'd left behind forever.

Mara was running the animal hospital and relocation center left to them by her parents and an increase in exotic animal smuggling led Mara to join The Green Group, a new environmental group that kept their missions mysteriously private.

The Green Group is suspected of masterminding the explosion but deny all culpability. When Kylie's ghosts catch up with her, literally and figuratively, she begins to put together what really happened.
