Covenant Baptism: Born of Spirit, Born of Water - What it Means to be Born Again
Covenant Baptism: Born of Spirit, Born of Water - What it Means to be Born Again
by Richard Yarbrough
The church, the body of Christ is on the cusp of greater things in Him. We are moving into the gospel of the Kingdom, better covenant theology, and supernatural lifestyle. Renowned Pastors, Teachers, and Apostles are preaching and writing dozens of books, posting videos and starting schools to birth the supernatural lifestyle as normal Christianity. In all of this preaching, and in books and videos, I find one thing missing. How do we enter into the Kingdom of God, right now, on this earth? How do we enter into the new covenant relationship with the Lord to manifest these glorious new lifestyles? Covenant Baptism has the answers to propel the body of Christ into these truths. God has commissioned us, His body, to make the earth as it is in heaven. We bring are to the Kingdom of Heaven to the earth. The Lord has given us the tools needed to do so.
Our Lord Jesus gave Peter the keys to the Kingdom. On the day of Pentecost Peter reveled these keys and three thousand were saved. It was the birth of the church. Within a few hundred years understanding of the keys were lost. Martin Luther found understanding of the first key; repentance, and thereby the Protestant movement was birthed. In the 1900’s, by the Welch revival and Azusa Street, the Holy Spirit brought understanding of another key, receiving the Holy Spirit. The Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements were born. Now Covenant Baptism brings fuller understanding of the third Key, the doctrine of baptisms. This is key to the birth of the Kingdom Movement and new and better covenant theology.
In Covenant Baptism you will find answers to:
• Is water baptism only a ritual show of the work Jesus already did in one at salvation?
• Is water baptism required for salvation? Hint, no. However, is it required for greater things?
• Jesus said that we cannot enter into, or even perceive the Kingdom of God, unless we are born of the water and the Spirit. What did He mean by that?
• What does it mean to be truly Born Again?
• What is required to become a partaker of the new covenant? Is there a separate act, similar to circumcision in Abraham’s covenant, to enter the new and better covenant of Hebrews 8:6, 10-13?
• Are the baptism in the Holy Spirit and Fire, and receiving, being filled with, the Holy Spirit the same thing?
• If not, do I need both?
• What are the four supernatural works that the Bible teaches happens to us in water baptism?
• If I don’t have the peace of Jesus, if I don’t manifest the power gifts of the Spirit, could it be because I am missing the full understanding of the New Covenant and Covenant Baptism?
• What was John the Baptist talking about when he described the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire as threshing wheat and gathering the straw to be burned?
• Was John the Baptist talking about a real threshing floor in Luke 3:17?
• Why did God seek to kill Moses just days after meeting with him out of the burning bush?
• When Adam and Eve were cast out, why did God have to set an angel with a fiery sword at the gate of the garden? What does this have to do with my salvation?
Richard Yarbrough has taught these principles for over forty years. He has seen hundreds of people’s Christian walk reach new levels of power and glory when they acted on the teachings of Covenant Baptism. This teaching is not new. It is a better understanding of the doctrine of baptisms as taught in the first century church. Richard Yarbrough has scripture quotes on every page to guide you through the wonders that the Lord Jesus Christ is instilling in His Church. Like Luther’s protestant movement and the Pentecostal/ Charismatic Movement; Covenant Baptism will usher in a paradigm shift in the body of Christ. The Kingdom of God is at hand, within our grasp. We must be born of water and the Spirit to fully enter in to it!
