INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR:
Q: Why should readers try this series?
A: This bold new series starts out looking at the life of a regular(ish) teen girl who’s bullied at the hands of her mother, the paparazzi and her fellow students. But what happens over this nine book series is this unfortunate girl becomes the most badass girl in all of history. Most readers will appreciate this series because there is literally nothing like it out there right now, which makes the Swann series feel fresh and yes, highly addictive.
Q: What kind of series is this?
A: Swann and Monarch (books one and two) are both human stories steeped in high school angst, bullies, difficult parents and the twisted effects of human genetic modification. The third book, Clone, kicks this world wide open, unleashing a rapidly evolving world of urban fantasy. By the ninth and final book in this series, urban fantasy will have become dark fantasy, but by then you’ll be so hooked that nothing else will matter (the author says with a Cheshire cat-like grin).
Q: What kind of readers will enjoy these books?
A: Fans of Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games and Divergent will appreciate this unique series.
Q: Are there adult themes in this series?
A: Yes. In staying authentic to the YA world, there is some strong language, violence and adult situations. I personally feel this series should be enjoyed by ages 15 and above.
WHAT READERS ARE SAYING…
“This book easily surpasses five stars. There is very uniquely constructed world with relatable problems most teens and young adults can connect to. I just love stories like these that almost can't really be put into a classification or they can be stuffed into several.”
– Rebecca, Amazon Reviewer for Swann ★★★★★
“Wow! Monarch was even better than Swann. The twists and turns were very interesting. I couldn’t put the book down, it was so good. Loved it!"
– Rose, Amazon Reviewer for Monarch ★★★★★
“This is my favorite of the first three books! It’s scripted so well that I could literally feel their feelings and pain. I cried and laughed and totally enjoyed this book. The character development is phenomenal.”
– Kierra, Amazon Reviewer for Clone ★★★★★
READING ORDER OF THE SWANN SERIES:
Finalist Award in the 2015 National Indie Excellence Book Awards, Young Adult Fiction Category.
Thanks to her offbeat mother, Shade’s full name is Galactic Shade Griffin. Having a name like that while being the new girl in school is pretty much catnip for bullies. The summer before Shade’s junior year of high school, her mother breaks up with yet another boyfriend and moves them once again to a new town.
This time, they move into a dilapidated old house where Shade has an entire attic bedroom to herself—at least until she discovers it’s haunted by the ghost of a teenaged boy named Brandon Yates. When Shade’s best friend goes missing, her life becomes even more complicated. With the help of Brandon who’s struggling with his own issues in the world beyond, Shade faces the question of whether or not she has what it takes to become a true hero.
Although this novel deals with a number of serious issues—drug and alcohol abuse, cutting, and disturbing world events—it's primarily a novel about a teenaged girl finding out who she really is and that she's capable of so much more than she ever thought possible.

“Another fantastic, awesome, laugh-out-loud funny addition to the library of ‘falling in love’ with Stacey Rourke books! It’s different, and a great example of some pre-Twilight era YA Paranormal books, where angst was minimal, family was important and adventures were up front and center.” -InD’Tale Magazine
“Celeste is a well-rounded character and a spunky, sassy protagonist. Though she is a superhero, she commands compassion because she is so human and vulnerable, flawed and weak in spite of super powers. She has the demands of a job, sibling feuds, family issues and the weight of the world on her shoulders.” -IndieReader
When a white water rafting adventure goes horribly wrong, four teens must brave the wilderness to survive in Stranded in the Wild.
Sixteen-year-old Savi Evans came to an adventure camp in Idaho carrying the pain of a recent and tragic loss and a dark family secret. She hopes the wilderness setting, vigorous activities, and some new faces might help take her mind off things back home. At Camp Arrowhead, Savi makes fast friends with Jade Chang and Rico Cruz, but mean and sarcastic Conner Swift is also on their raft. What was supposed to be an exciting expedition turns into a nightmare when their raft slams into a boulder and the adult guide is ejected into the water and disappears downriver. Without their guide and desperately trying to steer an out-of-control raft, the terrified teens pass the "last chance" point of no return and enter the fiercest rapids on the river.
fter another collision, Jade gets pinned between a rock and the raft, and Rico is also jolted from the float and ends up in the water. Savi has no choice but to cut the raft loose. By the time the teens drag themselves out of the river, they're injured, exhausted, and twenty-five miles from camp. Soon stranded, the foursome is in a remote wilderness with meager provisions. The area is rife with wild animals, snakes, and a vicious flesh-eating predator known as Vexel. Nobody is sure what kind of animal Vexel is because no one who has encountered him has ever survived. Now the disoriented teens must find their way to Camp Arrowhead with the clock ticking and Vexel stalking them.
Can they make it over a final hurdle before the dam opens, and crushes their only hope of reaching safety?
When Rylie went to summer camp, she didn't expect to get bitten by a werewolf and turn into a monster. She also didn't expect to fall in love--especially not with a werewolf hunter.

A runaway spell is the most dangerous weapon of all
The sea is the only life Juan’s ever known—not counting the decade he spent as a Vampire. Those years gave him a healthy aversion for anything supernatural, but he’s a shifter now. It’s way better than being one of the undead, but he still doesn’t trust magic. Paired up with Aura to teach him, he falls and falls hard, but she spurns his advances.
A history professor before the cataclysm, Aura deals in prophecies for her shifter pack. Juan is one hell of an attractive package, but he left a string of broken hearts during his years as chief navigator on cruise ships. She’d be an idiot to sign on for a fling. She has enough problems without adding a broken heart to them.
What began as an exploratory mission to see if anything is left of the world turns sour fast. A Vampire attack, a possessed priest, and a gateway to Hell mean fallout from the spell gone bad that pinned them in South America is far from gone. Retreat is tempting, but nowhere is safe. Surrounded by hardship, they sail on. Evil is leaching in from somewhere, and they have to find the breach.
Three months after returning Magician Emery Thane’s heart to his body, Ceony Twill is well on her way to becoming a Folder. When a magician with a penchant for revenge believes that Ceony possesses a secret, he vows to discover it…even if it tears apart the very fabric of their magical world. After a series of attacks target Ceony and catch those she holds most dear in the crossfire, Ceony knows she must find the true limits of her powers…and keep her knowledge from falling into wayward hands.
