Definition of the "Science Fiction Genre": The focus of this subgenre of fiction is science and technology, especially as they will possibly exist in a future time. Some of the typical aspects of a Science Fiction ebook are time travel, future worlds with technology that may not even be contemplated at this point, aliens and other life forms, and travelling in space. What separates the Science Fiction subgenre from the Fantasy subgenre of fiction is that the imagined or invented elements of a Science Fiction novel typically have more of a probability of existing. They are based upon scientific principles, not principles of magic.
Some examples of bestselling ebooks in the Science Fiction genre are Frank Herbert (Dune), Isaac Asimov (Foundation), Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game) and George Orwell (1984).

How far would you go to find The One?
A simple DNA test is all it takes. Just a quick mouth swab and soon you’ll be matched with your perfect partner—the one you’re genetically made for.
That’s the promise made by Match Your DNA. A decade ago, the company announced that they had found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. But the discovery has its downsides: test results have led to the breakup of countless relationships and upended the traditional ideas of dating, romance and love.
Now five very different people have received the notification that they’ve been “Matched.” They’re each about to meet their one true love. But “happily ever after” isn’t guaranteed for everyone. Because even soul mates have secrets. And some are more shocking than others…
A word-of-mouth hit in the United Kingdom, The One is a fascinating novel that shows how even the simplest discoveries can have complicated consequences.
Terrance Denby takes an unusual route to work one day and finds himself in an enchanted forest where winged fairies give him a sword and tell him, “Your journey is about to begin. Learn to use this sword or perish.”
Terrance doesn’t have time to go on a magical quest: he’s late for his job as a computer programmer. But when he gets to work, he suddenly notices things he hadn’t seen before. Like the fact that his boss is a demon with scaly skin, horns, and bloodstained fangs. Or that an “unnamed thing below” feasts on human victims in an arena filled with people absorbed in their cell phones.
Set up on a blind date with a perky blonde named Shannon, Terrance finds that she is wearing a full suit of armor complete with a helmet and sword. “I’m a Sister of Torment,” she explains. “We’re a group of women who serve the Darkness.” Terrance can't help wondering how such a nice, attractive girl ended up beheading people with an ax.
But their budding romance is complicated when Terrance is recruited by The Infinite, a shadowy group that is at war with the Sisters of Torment and their demonic overlords. Will Terrance join them? Or will he try to return to his old life and forget the evidence of his now-awakened senses? Faeries, elves, warriors, mermaids, and his dark-souled girlfriend will help him decide.
It only takes one to upset the balance of magic.
The magical barrier known as the Veil is all that stands between our reality and the Otherworld. Those with the gift of magic can pull energy through it to perform miraculous feats of power. The Inquisitio opposes these mages, who have organized themselves within the Society for Psychical Defense. The world of magic is shaken by the awakening of a wild mage, a woman capable of manipulating the Veil itself. She has the power to either eradicate the Inquisitio or rob the mages of their abilities. Only one side can win and it will be the side that gets to the wild mage first.

Ania Zaleska lives a perfectly ordinary—albeit floundering—life in Poland's second-biggest city until the day she explodes. She's dug from the rubble of her apartment building by shadow mage Noah Otieno, whose job it becomes to get Ania's wild magic under control.
Noah is affiliated with the Society for Psychical Defense but she has kept herself away from magical politics as much as possible. Now she is in charge of potentially the most powerful magical weapon on either side of the war, she must decide how she can best keep her safe—especially when their magic brings them together in ways only wild magic can.

“Your Majesty, I take life. I am not certain that my skills actually extend to preserving it.”
There are always those who are willing to pay for someone else’s death. Having grown up amongst the Family of Assassins, ELEN-AI knows well the prices people are willing to pay to see their enemies fall quickly, quietly, and discreetly. When she is asked to preserve life rather than take it, she is surprised. Upon hearing that her charge is the Queen’s only child GIDYON, who is secretly being groomed to succeed his mother, she is horrified. To ensure political stability, no man has ever sat on the throne of the Queendom of the Seven Lakes. Yet one does not easily refuse a Queen, and so reluctantly, Elen-ai accepts the contract.
Her fears only deepen upon meeting the sixteen-year-old Prince Gidyon, who treats her as no better than a petty murderer. However, following an attack on his life, Elen-ai is forced to admit that the danger of leaving this boy-prince alone may be even worse than leaving him to his own devices. Elen-ai reluctantly accompanies Gidyon across the country to identify those within the seven most powerful families who are responsible for the attempt on the Prince’s life.
Somewhere in their travels from the calm waters of Lake Tak to the looming cliffs above Lake Bertak, the two form an unlikely yet profound friendship, and Elen-ai begins to see that Gidyon has the makings of a great ruler within him. As they meet with the families of power, it becomes increasingly clear that secrets and power games run far deeper throughout the Queendom of the Seven Lakes than either of them ever suspected.

Toronto, 2058. A future without death, where life is cheap—and memory all that matters.
Finsbury Gage should be dead. He and his wife were victims of a freak car accident, smeared across the highway by a crazed bit-head piloting a stolen urban assault vehicle. Luckily for Fin, a Second Skyn recovery team snatched his mind from his ruined body moments before it faded forever. They declared his wife unrecoverable at the scene.
Six months later, with his salvaged thoughts uploaded to a custom bioSkyn replacement body, Fin was welcomed back into his life as a Detective with the Toronto Police Service. But all he could see was the face of the man who killed his wife—a split second of memory, locked in his mind.
In less than a month he was dead again, his memories lost, reportedly working as a hitman for a notorious bithead terrorist.
Now, Finsbury has restored from the brain bank yet again, but this time on a cold slab in a dingy basement skyn shop. He's wearing a stranger's face and a body built for speed, and his wife's death is the last thing he can remember. He's hiding under an assumed name, somehow wanted for a murder he doesn't remember committing—and as if all that weren't enough, a mysterious woman says they're in love and refuses to leave his side, while a venegeful superintelligence wants them both erased.
Finsbury doesn't know what to believe, or who he became, and the truth of his lost time lies hidden in a dangerous underworld of jacked-up brains and superhuman bodies. Will he discover his innocence, or come face-to-face with the monster inside him?

HER MIND IS MORPHING BY THE MINUTE…PREPARE TO HAVE YOURS BLOWN!
Cancel your lunch and dinner dates, and clear out your inbox at work before picking up DISSENT, the SEVENTH installment of the action-packed reverse harem sci-fi fantasy series, Rise Of The Iliri! Because this is the truth: This epic series, spellbinding from the first, only becomes more powerfully enthralling with each adventure. Start DISSENT at your peril if you have looming deadlines!
Author Auryn Hadley goes deep rather than wide on this one, reveling in the relationships that are the source of power of Salryc Luxx, commander of the Anglian army and leader of all iliri. Danger surrounds her on all sides: from the enemy’s encroachment on the borders of her former homeland, to the many humans who still perceive the iliri species as an enslaved inferior race. The thing that Sal fears most though, is losing her mind; all members of her lineage have been driven mad as their powers increased--and Sal’s mind is morphing by the minute.
Even before Sal joined the Black Blades, they were the best of her country’s elite forces, bred to be ferocious predators and trained to be deadly soldiers. They think as one, feel as one, yet possess their own special abilities--and Sal is their center. Their deepest secret, that the Black Blades are all crossbred iliri, is now out in the open. With the addition of Sal, a purebred iliri, they have become the most deadly creatures on the continent. Now the country that disbanded them needs them to defeat the invading Terrans. Sal desperately wants to defeat the Terrans and their leader, who will stop at nothing to wipe out the iliri. Ironically, saving the country that enslaved her people is the only way to save them.
As the strain begins to show, Sal is trying to let herself lean on the Blades, a band of brothers, some of whom share her bed – and it’s getting really crowded in the bedroom! The more of them there are, the more adorable these guys get, like puppies piled up around a warm fire. Although some of the human males in Sal’s world aren’t quite used to the reverse harem model of family life the iliri favor, the smoking (but tasteful) sex scenes are guaranteed to please readers.
Rise Of The Iliri will keep epic fantasy and action-adventure fans—as well as crossover romance and mystery readers—hypnotized into the wee hours. (Grown people. Magical though they may be, these are definitely not books for the underage crowd!) Because of the exotic sexual instincts of the iliri, DISSENT may not be suitable for humans under 18.
Fans of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern will find Sal's planet Ogun an irresistible destination for their next fantasy fix, and some fans may be reminded of Avatar without the scary beasts, or Game of Thrones. (But happier.)

Strap in for the ride of your life! Witty, fast, funny and moving. What more could you ask for?
Clunk's grateful when his boss sends him for a refit, because old robots are usually junked. Being old and wise, he knows there's a catch, but at first it doesn't seem too bad.
The workshop performing the refit is located on a nearby planet, and Clunk's boss wants him to carry out a trivial task while he's there: help a freelancer pick up some cargo.
It's a simple job, straight in and out ... but don't be late.
How can Clunk refuse? He's a certified co-pilot, so landing in a deserted field under cover of darkness, avoiding customs ships, orbital lasers and trigger-happy warships along the way, is not a problem. Plus Clunk's a robot, so he has no choice but to obey.
Unfortunately the freelance pilot is a much bigger challenge, because Hal Spacejock is a bit of a jerk. Obstinate, over-confident, and woefully under-skilled, he's never going to let a lowly robot fly his precious ship. This, even though Hal's creditors have just given him twenty-four hours to pay for his precious ship, or he'll lose it ... and his life.
Can the two of them sort out their differences and deliver the cargo, or will they still be wrestling over the controls when both deadlines expire?
A Robot Named Clunk is one part buddy movie, two parts laughter and three parts how-did-he-survive-that?
Set in the distant future, where humanity spans the galaxy and robots are second-class citizens, this is the first novel in the Hal Spacejock series. (The first three novels are available in a box set called Hal Spacejock Omnibus One, which is usually much cheaper than buying them individually. Hal Spacejock Omnibus Two is also available.)
These novels are self-contained, with a beginning, a middle and a proper ending. They're not sequels, they don't end on a cliffhanger, and you could start or end your journey with any book in the series. Some events from earlier books are referenced in later ones, so it makes sense to read them in order, but it's not essential.
If you get a smile or two out of Hal and Clunk's first outing, I guarantee you will love the rest of the series. (Just take a look at the reviews for book two and later!)
By the way, there's also a new spin-off series, Harriet Walsh, featuring the popular Peace Force character from Hal Spacejock 4: No Free Lunch. The first two books are already available, and the third is not far off.

NASA discovered the alien ship lurking in the asteroid belt in the 1960s. They kept the Target under intense surveillance for decades, letting the public believe they were exploring the solar system, while they worked feverishly to refine the technology needed to reach it.
The ship itself remained silent, drifting.
Dr. Jane Holloway is content documenting nearly-extinct languages and had never contemplated becoming an astronaut. But when NASA recruits her to join a team of military scientists for an expedition to the Target, it’s an adventure she can’t refuse.
The ship isn’t vacant, as they presumed.
A disembodied voice rumbles inside Jane’s head, "You are home."
Jane fights the growing doubts of her colleagues as she attempts to decipher what the alien wants from her. As the derelict ship devolves into chaos and the crew gets cut off from their escape route, Jane must decide if she can trust the alien’s help to survive.
