Definition of the "Science Fiction Genre": The focus of this subgenre of fiction is science and technology, especially as they will possibly exist in a future time. Some of the typical aspects of a Science Fiction ebook are time travel, future worlds with technology that may not even be contemplated at this point, aliens and other life forms, and travelling in space. What separates the Science Fiction subgenre from the Fantasy subgenre of fiction is that the imagined or invented elements of a Science Fiction novel typically have more of a probability of existing. They are based upon scientific principles, not principles of magic.
Some examples of bestselling ebooks in the Science Fiction genre are Frank Herbert (Dune), Isaac Asimov (Foundation), Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game) and George Orwell (1984).
They call me…Hero…Mercenary…Dragon Slayer.
But that wasn’t always the case.
There was a time when I thought that dragons were beautiful...
During my childhood, I believed that I was friends with a dragon, except the dragon never knew of this friendship.
Days after my thirteenth birthday, my secret was no longer mine to keep. Soldiers arrived to slay the dragon so that a feudal lord could make his name amongst the Nine Kingdoms. It ended in abject failure. They were left to soak in a bloodbath of their own making.
In a rage, the dragon destroyed the place that I called home, and killed the people that I called family. She also dismantled a thing that I called love.
Reborn under a mound of ashen corpses, my empty shell vowed vengeance, forging a fiery path of retribution that could not be undone.
Not by my own design, I inadvertently became a slayer of dragons. Curiously, dragon slaying isn’t my next job...
A princess is being held for ransom at a goblin fort. Wearing the stolen armour of a goblin knight, I attempt to rescue her to claim my prize.
When I met her, she was Winter. Now, she is Spring. Maybe I can learn to love again…

After saving her nation of Nikan from foreign invaders and battling the evil Empress Su Daji in a brutal civil war, Fang Runin was betrayed by allies and left for dead.
Despite her losses, Rin hasn’t given up on those for whom she has sacrificed so much—the people of the southern provinces and especially Tikany, the village that is her home. Returning to her roots, Rin meets difficult challenges—and unexpected opportunities. While her new allies in the Southern Coalition leadership are sly and untrustworthy, Rin quickly realizes that the real power in Nikan lies with the millions of common people who thirst for vengeance and revere her as a goddess of salvation.
Backed by the masses and her Southern Army, Rin will use every weapon to defeat the Dragon Republic, the colonizing Hesperians, and all who threaten the shamanic arts and their practitioners. As her power and influence grows, though, will she be strong enough to resist the Phoenix’s intoxicating voice urging her to burn the world and everything in it?
A massive sphere appears near Earth, defying all attempts to communicate or understand its purpose. Power outages plague key cities and military bases, causing wide spread panic and chaos. Only the Space Agency seems to have a grasp on the situation but with all their combined resources, they’re baffled.
Captain Warren Miller races to join his colleagues in the Agency headquarters, hoping to convince his superiors to launch their latest space craft, the battlecruiser Leviathan, which may be able to defy this intruder. In the absence of communication, he hopes a little intimidation might bring about a conversation.
But then smaller objects descend upon the Earth, grabbing up people from all over the globe. Captain Miller never makes it back to base, forcing the Agency to scramble for a response. With the weight of an expectant world beating down on them and the alien threat looming above, they have no choice but to engage the enemy or simply witness history in the making.
Explore the universe…
“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” Arthur C Clarke penned those words, and they stand true to this day. Do we want to be alone? Leave it to science fiction authors to address that question in equal measure.
Aliens can be peaceful or not. Who will emerge as the superior strain of intelligence? Humanity may be new to the game, but they aren’t new to conflict.
Fantastic races vying for dominance. A microcosm of the greater good. Battles fought for higher ideals. Battles fought just to survive.
War doesn’t care about human or alien. The soldiers fight, and they fight hard, as if their lives depend on it.
Because they do.

"I really liked the deeper themes at play – the idea of AIs and where their power might take them; what is worth fighting for; the idea of augmetics and whether they should be pursued, if maxims should be followed i.e. whether you should make a friend of your enemy, and what that might cost you in terms of conscience. I was never less than entertained! And the emotional heft - my word, this is good! I felt SO many emotions..." Amanda Rutter

In a land of three warring kingdoms, a centaur huntsman and a warrior priestess might be the only hope for peace. If the two enemies don’t kill each other first, they might even find love.
Seira of Blackstone has fought in many border skirmishes against the centaurs of the lowlands, but when she comes upon a massacre, it’s soon apparent the centaur and human dead weren’t fighting each other. They were fighting together against a third, unknown foe.
Toryn, a centaur huntsman, is following the trail of a group of soul-mages when he encounters Seira, the most exquisite female he’s ever beheld. She’s majestic, battle-hardened, strong-willed, and her sharp tongue fires his blood more than any other female he’s ever met.
While Seira’s natural instinct is to kill the horseman, she’s also swift to see they have a better chance of success if they work together. But there is more danger than just an unknown enemy. As they come to depend on each other, Seira secretly admits she has growing feelings for her centaur partner.
That’s a problem. As a warrior-priestess of the Moon Goddess, Seira has sworn vows of obedience, loyalty, and chastity in exchange for her magic. As such, her body, heart, and soul can never be shared with another. Not even a noble centaur with equal parts desire and tender longing in his eyes.
But centaurs are renowned for their stubborn natures, and Toryn plans to claim Seira’s heart even if he risks having the warrior-priestess bury one of her blades in his chest for his troubles.

With the fragility of the body no longer a limiting factor, human beings are at last able to journey to neighboring exoplanets long known to harbor life.
A team of these explorers, Ariadne O’Neill and her three crewmates, are hard at work in a planetary system fifteen light-years from Sol, on a mission to ecologically survey four habitable worlds. This science fiction classic by the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author is "a rare and powerful synthesis of poetry and science, reason and emotion" (The New York Times).
In a near-future world beset by war, climate change, and overpopulation, Portland resident George Orr discovers that his dreams have the power to alter reality. Upon waking, the world he knew has become a strange, barely recognizable place, where only George has a clear memory of how it was before. Seeking escape from these “effective dreams,” George eventually turns to behavioral psychologist Dr. William Haber for a cure. But Haber has other ideas in mind.
Seeing the profound power of George’s dreams, Haber believes it must be harnessed for the greater good—no matter the cost. Soon, George is a pawn in Haber’s dangerous game, where the fate of humanity grows more imperiled with every waking hour.
As relevant today as it was when it won the Locus Award in 1971, The Lathe of Heaven is a true classic, at once eerie and prescient, entertaining and intelligent. In short, it does “what science fiction is supposed to do" (Newsweek).
"When I read The Lathe of Heaven as a young man, my mind was boggled; now when I read it…it breaks my heart. Only a great work of literature can bridge - so thrillingly - that impossible span."—Michael Chabon
Cory knew the world was about to end when a man who looked like Jesus arrived from the eastern sky and crash landed in his backyard. But he wasn’t afraid because his father, the Prophet, had predicted that Cory would lead their people through the Apocalypse.
Except it turns out Cory’s father wasn’t a prophet, he was a used spaceship salesman-turned-con artist from the Sagittarius Cluster. And the man who looked like Jesus was actually an alien named Zeus who came to earth to save Cory before the world got turned over to a species that loved the taste of human flesh. All they have to do is get off-planet before a reptilian bounty hunter catches them. If they succeed, Cory can petition the Galactic Government to spare the people of Earth. If they fail, Cory and everyone else on the planet will be turned into lizard poop.
So it turns out Cory’s father had been prophetic about one thing after all: the world was about to end, and only Cory could save it.
