Definition of "Action and Adventure Genre": You may ask yourself, how does an Action and Adventure ebook differ from a Thriller ebook? Fair question. They may seem similar, but the main aspect of an Action and Adventure ebook is the element of consistent physical danger as a main part of the storyline. So, while our reference to Tom Cruise and, for instance, his Mission Impossible series was slightly tongue-in-cheek, those stories would actually fall into the Action and Adventure genre. Another important aspect of the Action and Adventure genre is that the pace of the novel using action is actually just as important as character building and setting--which makes the genre differ from others in a significant fashion.
Some examples of Action and Adventure bestselling ebooks are James Patterson (most of his Alex Cross novels), Pierce Brown (Red Rising), Tom Clancy (most of his Jack Ryan novels), and A.G. Riddle (The Atlantis Gene).

Her best friend died and leaves her as guardian to a teenager. Now, not only is Tamara struggling with her new role but she is also charged with caring for the family home, the Ridaught Plantation known by the locals as the Dead House.
To her surprise, the place is already occupied by an angsty ghost named Joey who has a penchant for wearing her clothes and a fascination for paranormal movies and television shows. Tamara and Joey develop an unexpected friendship but questions remain about how and when he got there.
In an attempt to fit in with the suspicious small town residents, Tamara turns on the charm and decides to host a community wide Halloween party, right at the historic home.
Everything turns out great until the dead begin to show up too.
Can Tamara solve the secret of the Ridaught Plantation before it’s too late?
Can she protect Chloe from the dead who are assembling?
Or will they also become ghostly residents of the Dead House?

Tamara Garvey lands her first book deal but her friend’s reactions aren’t what she expected. They are less than supportive—even her dead best friend brushes off this momentous achievement.
Question is, why?
Tamara expected her life to improve, but the Dead House has a few paranormal surprises for her. Her ghostly writing is attracting disturbing spiritual activity, putting her and her family at risk.
You know it’s bad when Joey is hiding in strange places. Then Chloe tries to communicate with her late mother and learns what true terror is. Someone or something is determined to keep them apart—forever.
Things get even more troubling when Deputy Kevin Patrick enlists their help in a heartbreaking murder case. Can Tamara and Chloe make contact with the lost soul? Will the angry new residents at the Dead House force them to abandon Chloe’s inheritance?
Dead At Midnight:
What do you do when the family curse kicks in and Chloe finds herself in a paranormal fight for her life?
Tamara decides to get to the bottom of it. She hopes to set Chloe free but can't do it alone. A talented curse breaker, with a secretive past of her own, joins their forces and the outcome is not what anyone expected.
Joey makes peace with the dead, even though he's dead too. Will his act of forgiveness take him away from the Dead House forever? Will he cross over and leave this new family behind?

From the twisted minds of Ramy Vance and Matthew Herrmann comes a new epic urban fantasy adventure unlike anything seen before.
If you like the Dresden Files, Mercy Thompson or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then you’ll be helplessly addicted to the Mortality Bites series.
"Mythology, satire, and brutal honesty. Vance delivers a knockout punch of fun and fearlessness in every last one of his books. Not only does he make you laugh, he makes you think. That's a rare combination that few authors ever achieve, and Vance does it splendidly." — John P. Logsdon, author of the Paranormal Police Department series.

The Better Demons Series takes place in the GoneGod World... an inspiring and unique setting of myths, magic and mischief. But what is the GoneGod World?
Four years ago, the gods left. All of them. Their last message to humanity was "Thank you for believing in us, but it is not enough. We're leaving. Good luck."
At first no one took them seriously. Until, that is, all the denizens of all the heavens and hells started showing up on people's doorsteps.
Creatures from every religion, mythology, folklore or fairytale now live among us, mortal and homeless. Trouble is, after eons of living forever, elves, dragons, dwarves, oni-demons, even friggin’ Medusa aren't very good at being mortal.
Welcome to the GoneGod World...where myths are real and even demons want to better themselves.
“A quirky romcom dusted with philosophical observations….A delightfully witty…poignant novel.” —The Washington Post
“She smiled a soft, troubled smile and I felt the whole world slipping away, and I wanted to slip with it, to go wherever she was going… I had existed whole years without her, but that was all it had been. An existence. A book with no words.”
Tom Hazard has just moved back to London, his old home, to settle down and become a high school history teacher. Salt & Stone is a continuation of the Elemental Origins Series by award winning and USA Today Bestselling Author, A.L.Knorr. The Siren's Curse Series is best enjoyed if readers have read Born of Water and/or The Elementals.
INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR:
Q: What makes your writing special and different?
A: I write cuss-free, no on-page sex fantasy stories featuring strong female protagonists, and themes of love, friendship, the environment (because its something I care deeply about), while delivering a fast-paced adventure. I’ve been told my writing is very cinematic and that readers can watch it play out on the screen of their mind in full-colour as they read. My Elemental Origins Series is non-linear, meaning it doesn’t have to be read starting at book 1, you can pick up any of the first 5 books and dive in because they all take place simultaneously.
I believe its an authors job in today’s world to nurture empathy, help the reader live another life and feel what its like to be in someone else’s shoes. I try to write as believable a fantasy world as possible, with characters who value life and care for one another. My antagonists are often somewhat faceless for part of the story, providing mystery, and they are also not ‘just bad guys’, they’re people with their own world view one might understand, even if you don’t agree with it. Most of all, I just want to tell a great story and make readers feel something - I’m told I do a good job at that.
Q: Aside from Salt & Stone, what other books do you write, and what order should I read them in?
A: I also write the bestselling Elemental Origins Series that chronicles Targa and 4 other girls as they venture beyond the borders of their Canadian home and experience transformational supernatural summer adventures. I recommend reading Born of Water before reading Salt & Stone.
If you like Melissa Meyer, Tamora Pierce, Leia Stone, Jaymin Eve, Cassandra Clare, Lauren Kate, Stephenie Meyer, Becca Fitzpatrick, or Michelle Madow, you will LOVE AL Knorr’s storytelling!

The first three thrillers in the best-selling Holly Lin series: No Shelter, The Devil You Know, Hollow Point.
“Excellent—memorable and something I’ll read more than once.” —Roxane Gay, New York Times bestselling author of An Untamed State on No Shelter
NO SHELTER
Holly Lin is living two lives. To her friends and family, she’s a pleasant, hardworking nanny. To her boss and colleagues, she’s one of the best non-sanctioned government assassins in the world.
But when a recent mission goes wrong causing one of her team members to die, Holly realizes she might no longer be cut out for the work — except the mission, as it turns out, is only half over, and to complete it will take her halfway across the world and bring her face to face with a ghost from her past.
Things are about to get personal. And as Holly Lin’s enemies are about to find out, she is not a nanny they want to piss off.
THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
Javier Diaz is dead. Holly Lin knows this because she killed Javier and his men. Now, to protect her family, Holly must travel to Mexico to take out Javier's father before he learns about the death of his son.
It should be a simple mission, but nothing is ever simple for Holly Lin. The plan is to take out everybody in the Diaz compound — until she encounters a woman and two children hiding inside.
Suddenly, the night is only beginning. And by the end, Holly will come face to face with a new kind of evil — one that she will have no choice but to defeat.
HOLLOW POINT
Holly Lin has a new life. A new identity. It's been almost a year since she walked away from being a non-sanctioned government assassin. She now lives in a small Texan town, spending her nights as a bartender, her days shelving books at the local library.
But it all changes one night when she's approached by a woman covered in blood — a woman holding a baby. Within minutes, the baby has been placed in Holly's arms and the woman is dead, killed by two men.
Soon Holly Lin will learn a hard truth: the world she walked away from hasn't forgotten her. And it will do whatever it takes to get her back.
FIRST LIGHT OF DAY is two things. First, it’s a compelling story wrapped around a disquieting look at life in 2045 in the aftermath of a technology revolution that profoundly changed the nature of society. Second, it’s a non-fiction look at the technologies available today that make this revolution possible and even probable.
In the fictional, part one of the book, the world is on the brink of creating the first truly sentient machines. Technology has changed everything from travel and work to government and even personal relationships. Most developed societies are segregated between high-end knowledge workers who enjoy all the benefits of life in the new digital cities and the majority of the population who have been rendered economically superfluous. The characters’ inner struggles are intellectual, philosophical and spiritual—and their time before losing control of their lives to their own creations is running out.
The second non-fiction part of the book provides an overview of the 10 categories of technology that play crucial roles in the story and are shaping our world today.
The author, Michael J.T. Steep, is the founder and executive director of the Disruptive Technology and Digital Cities Program at Stanford University School of Engineering and one of today's leading experts on technology innovation. He wrote this book as a cautionary tale for anyone who wonders about the impact of unchecked technology development currently underway.
Being the Guardian isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. My new life is weird and hard. Think magic comes easy to those who wield it? Think again! I’m more likely to blow something up than shield it.
As dark Fae make their way through the portal and my best friend’s children are kidnapped, it’s time for me to learn how to cast a location spell. Problem is, before I can start I’m pulled through the portal and left stranded in the Fae realm. I have no choice but to pull up my granny panties and figure this out. Everyone I love needs me.
Now I'm desperate for help. Lost in the Fae realm, I’m forced to seek it in a place where my enemies rule with an iron fist. My new trainer is powerful, patient, and very unexpected. The exact opposite of Sebastian. And even if they’re both extremely good looking, I don’t have time for an alpha male showdown over the rights to my affections. An evil entity is stalking supernaturals in Cottlehill Wilds, and I need to get back through the portal to help Violet find her kids.
Turns out, learning my magic is the least of my problems.
Klickitat and other stories (K.A.O.S) features four thriller tales about ordinary mountaineers in the Pacific Northwest thrust into extraordinary circumstances. This debut collection from author Mark Jenkins folds modern day mountain climbing into the speculative wilderness of fantasy, sci-fi, and historical fiction.
K.A.O.S. begins with the novelette Heavywater, which follows a vulcanologist trying to find his way home after a glacier fall in the central Alaskan wilds drops him in unfamiliar territory, without GPS.
In the short story Klickitat, a husband and wife climbing team are confronted by a long dormant stratovolcano waking under their feet, and something else; deeper.
Protectors, is a tale about a solo-climber's life-changing discovery of a powerful artifact at the site of a decades old plane crash in the Olympic Mountains.
K.A.O.S. ends with the novelette Signals: an unlikely pair discover they are the only people in the remote town of Whittier, Alaska not mysteriously put to sleep during a dark winter storm—and must team up if they hope to outwit an armed group of marauders prowling into town.
Sammy is a prep school kid struggling with teen love and bullying. Sara is a shaman’s daughter, an outcast, and a sociopath. They are identical best friends existing in different centuries. These ruthless killers are also immortal.
The ghosts of the past don’t always stay silent...

Though he tries to catch the vandal, Vilém can’t figure out how they’re making their marks—he never sees anyone, but that doesn’t mean he’s alone...
As he delves deeper into the mystery of the vandal, he realizes that the Holocaust isn’t over for everyone. The spirit of a girl long gone reveals herself, desperate to be heard.
Can Vilém help this restless soul?
Barrack Five is a heartbreaking historical fiction novelette.
