Rachel owns a little bookstore called "Beach Reads" in a little coastal town near the Outer Banks and is perfectly happy with where she is in life. She has her little sister and her sarcastic, tell-it-like- it-is best friend, Darla and she isn't looking for anything else.

When Rachel hears through the grapevine that her high school sweetheart's bff Cameron Jowblaski, aka Mr. Quarterback, Mr. Football Stud, Mr. Arrogant Jerk, is back in town, she simply can't wait to avoid him. What she finds out, though, is that he's grown up as much as she has.

Things start to heat up until Cameron's ex, Ms. High School Cheerleader, comes back into the picture. Rachel has to decide if it's time to close this particular book or read it through to the end.
